The Lagos Cultural Centre presents three artists residing in the Algarve, inspired by the light, colours and purity of the air. This exhibition reveals the artists’ passion for colours, nature and the Algarve. 

The Aljezur Sweet Potato Festival is an iconic event that celebrates one of the Algarve’s most emblematic products. Recognised for its superior quality, the Aljezur sweet potato is not only an essential food in local gastronomy, but also a symbol of pride and tradition for the community. The festival not only highlights the agricultural and gastronomic importance of this tubercle, but also promotes the culture, crafts and tourism of the region.

The Christmas season is coming and the municipality is preparing a magical programme for the whole family. The Praça do Infante Square will be the nerve centre for the activities, but the magic will be happening all over the municipality.

Monchique is preparing a Christmas program based on traditions and community. Christmas is, and always will be, a time of joy and makes more sense if lived and shared by everyone. Under the banner of “Monchique Natal”, the Municipality of Monchique presents several activity proposals for the whole family.

The Castro Marim Salt Nativity Scene, made with more than 6 tons of the “best salt in the world” occupies an area of 110 m2 and displays more than 4500 figures alluding to the birth of Jesus and the local culture. 

Enjoy an afternoon shopping extravaganza at the Piazetta’s stylish boutiques, all adorned with the Christmas spirit, featuring a wide range of well-known brands and live music, whilst tasting our seasonal delights, Glühwein, Christmas teas, hot and cold drinks, sweets. Several brands will share curiosities about their products to inspire you with good ideas for last minute gifts. And there’s great entertainment for all the family.

From 29 December to 1 January, the village of Paderne will be transformed and the best of the municipality's history will be on display. There will be dance, music, sketches, performances and acts alluding to the period, as well as the chance to be part of the daily life of a village in the 14th century.
